Installation of Artificial Hollows

CTS facilitate habitat augmentation via the installation of wildlife boxes where native hollows are sparse.  Tree hollows may take more than 100 years to naturally form and trees containing naturally developed hollows are becoming rarer in urban environments. These habitats are essential for species who use them to breed, shelter and survive. We can complete property assessments and make recommendations of sites that best suit habitat boxes. Installation of fabricated nesting hollows can help decrease the urban habitat crises and support local fauna in our area.

While tree management  is necessary,  this line of work may subject our hollow-dependant fauna to immediate habitat issues. Hollow replacement is paramount when tree removal occurs in great quantity such as land clearing for construction, road expansions or housing developments. CTS can remediate these concerns and support indigenous wildlife with post tree work habitat box(s) installation.

Attracting Wildlife

The property owner can supply their own nesting box and just use CTS for its installation or we can supply and install targeted box configurations for the intended native species.

The habitat boxes CTS have available to purchase range from generic all- inclusive to individual species specific boxes for example marsupials such as the common brush-tailed possum and sugar glider, and bird varieties including Eastern rosella and kookaburra. These boxes are designed for native Australian bird, reptile and mammal use and to withstand the harsh climate conditions of Australia's Mid-North coast.
